There was a time when Italian Black Metal was deeply rooted in its territory and heritage and reached artistic peaks becoming a reference for the years to come.
The local scene of Trento and Bolzano gave birth to some remarkable bands recognized and respected for their spontaneity and evocative power.
The classic compilation “From the Ancient Dolomitic Forests” has been a perfect synthesis of this era, featuring bands like Near, Lorn, Tenebrae in Perpetuum, and Chelmno, presenting 3 bands that have been a key part of ATMF’s history.
Lorn, as Near, were moving away from a Black Metal scene soon becoming a parody of his primeval meanings, drowning into the entertainment mainstream, other than its cold and sinister fascination that impressed the underground.
Their creation was not caving to these new millennials community standards but preserving a genuine connection with the very roots of this natural source.
Nordheim is a further step in this direction by the Lorn’s mastermind, who was so used to all the efforts by the mainstream bands to grow a bigger audience.
The atmosphere of Nordheim is a tempestuous solitude and manifestation of natural beauty and strength of a shamanic introspection.
Our CULT collection, that promoted acts like Beatrik and Tenebrae in Perpetuum, is now proud to give voice to a project for too long forgotten by the extreme metal media, but well committed to the memory of the underground early black metal maniacs.
“NORDHEIM” will come in a 6-panels digipak, limited to 200 copies and will include not only the 2007 demo songs but also a previously unreleased extra track.
